Barbara Raymond-LaPrease: As a Fire Commissioner, I wish to leverage my 31 years of business education and experience in service to the community, particularly as the District navigates current and future challenges. The District, a business entity, requires a diverse skill set among its members, extending beyond a singular focus on fire service expertise. My professional background encompasses budgeting, contract management, long-range planning, records management, information technology, business writing, business law, public speaking, and employee management. While I am not a firefighter, I’ve cultivated an understanding of the fire industry by a decade of attendance at Commissioner meetings and active District involvement.
Matthew Speach: With over 25 years of service to the Belgium Cold Springs Fire District, including five years as Chief, Matt is running for Fire Commissioner to ensure BCSFD remains strong, well-equipped, and ready for the future. Matt has worked every rank and understands the needs of our members, residents, and department. He is committed to smart budgeting, responsible planning, and supporting the firefighters who protect our community. Matt believes in transparency, teamwork, and investing in training and safety. As Commissioner, he will bring experience, integrity, and a clear vision to keep BCSFD moving forward while honoring its proud traditions.
