Despite the recent wet weather and the NYS Burn Ban, there is a rash of brush fires locally.  The Belgium Cold Springs Fire District’s new Brush Truck (M1) is ready to assist our firefighters tackling these fires.  This Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD turbo diesel V8 is equipped with dual rear wheels as well as 4-wheel drive to get into tough spots. It is equipped with a variety of tools as well as a 200-gallon tank of water with a 100′ booster line. This is the first piece of apparatus that uses the new color scheme of black over red.

The unit is perfect for traversing the paths in Radisson, Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area and other remote areas of our District.  Recently, several members checked out the new Brush Truck and became qualified to drive the vehicle.
